Uniform Statement

by Brown-Eyed Girl

I'm absolutely loving the new military jacket trend. I set out to the mall last week to get my hands on one, only to find that it's not quite as popular as I had thought. I even approached one sales associate asking if they had any, only to have her show me all the army green apparel in the store!! Hasn't quite taken off as much as the boyfriend blazer it seems. Still, I shall not be deterred - I love the structure and power a well fitted jacket can give - and nothing says it better than a military jacket.

Here are a couple of my favs...still on the hunt for the perfect one for this Spring that goes well for both work and play. Any suggestions?

J.Crew - Linen military blazer, $98
Asos - Vero Moda, $70
Mango - Michelle
Gap - Knit Military Jacket, $49.50
Miss Selfridge - Leather Military Jacket, $165
Esprit - Military Inspired Cotton Jacket, $99.50

  1. Great job on this post -- the pics make it look so well-conceived! I like those pics you posted. Are you looking for something to wear indoors or outdoors? I generally think that outerwear worn indoors for extended periods of time looks a little awkward. I think you're envisioning something that would work indoors, right? But that -- if you stepped outside -- would work as well? Hmmm... the hunt continues!

  2. Thanks Lulu!! I know what you mean, it's definitely an awkward situation when people ask you if you're cold, when in fact the "jacket" is the best part of your outfit. Hehe. I haven't come across anything that'd look appropriate indoors as well as for work. Something tells me the boyfriend blazer's going to be my best bet for that. In the meantime, I'll hunt for a good outdoor-sy military jacket :)
